Does Your Car's A/C Have You Hot Under the Collar?

TARRYTOWN, N.Y., Jan. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- MS -- When summer comes and it's time to switch on your car's A/C, it might not blow as cold as you'd like it to. In fact, it could even be blowing hot air.

Some estimate that older vehicles can lose as much as 15 percent of their air conditioning refrigerant every year, leakage generally caused when the system is not used during the winter months. During these months, the system's small O-ring seals dry out resulting in refrigerant loss and deterioration in system performance.

The good news is, bringing back the cool to your car's A/C and enjoying a sweat-free ride to work doesn't have to mean an expensive stop at the corner garage.

Automotive air conditioning technology has produced a new generation of easy-to-use, do-it-yourself products that makes bringing the cool back to your car simple, easy and a lot less costly than that trip to the mechanic's.

Exclusive Kim Kardashian Interview

We sell designer stuff and pretty much my whole wardrobe is from there. My life and my world is fashion. My sisters and I are going to start our own fashion label soon and we model and walk in all the runway shows in LA, New York and Miami.

So is the new fashion line definitely going to go ahead then? It's definitely going to happen but we're just meeting with manufacturers at the minute so it's still in the early stages. We want to start with jeans. Like a denim line. And then we want to do some really cute dresses and stuff that we would wear.

You did some modelling at LA Fashion Week too- what was that like? We me and my sisters walked in the Christian Audigier show together. All three of us did it so it was so much fun. Last year was my first show for Christian and I did it by myself.

Zumaya a California Wildfire Casualty

Detroit Tigers relief pitcher Joel Zumaya is going to be gone for at least half of 2008 after injuring his shoulder moving items in his Chula Vista, California home during last week's wildfires. ESPN.com reports Zumaya underwent shoulder surgery on his pitching shoulder in nearby San Diego and won't begin a new throwing program for at least four months.

Zumaya may or may not be the first baseball player injured as a result of the wildfires which destroyed several thousand homes, but several players—including Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn and other Padres—were forced to evacuate their homes at the height of the blazes. The Poway home of former Atlanta Braves star David Justice was destroyed in one of the wildfires.

High School Wrestling: Roosevelt's Phillips earns state trip despite ...

He had been the No. 1 seed in his weight class.

"I was upset for a few days, but I knew I couldn't do anything to change it," he said. "It's been a real motivator for me, just thinking about how quick something can be taken away."

Phillips also suffered his only defeat of the season after losing his temper and shoving Madison's Manuel Rocha in the face at the end of a tie match.

Swoyer said Phillips accepted his punishment — three days of post-practice running — without complaint.

"As long as he represents himself and the school in the right way, I don't mind a little swagger at all," said Swoyer, who is in his first year at Roosevelt. "Other than that one incident, he's done that."

The reward comes Friday in Austin, with an opportunity to compete for a state title.

Dudes with attitude problems

If this was the same bus that resort to the misdemeanors as described above, it certainly had one hell of an attitude problem. But if it happens to be one of many practising these things as if it was second nature, we have a hell of an attitude problem.
A letter from Kumbaeyer in New Ireland province yesterday showed perhaps another facet of this problem: "Recently, while I was in Mt Hagen, I got the shock of my life when I decided to take a stroll from the Highlander Hotel to the main town centre. Using the route from the coffee market lawn heading towards the Family Centre church and court house, I noticed some cars parked on the lawn. But on closer inspection, I noticed used oil, filters and other used vehicle servicing components were scattered on the lawn. I then realised that these people were servicing their vehicles on the lawn.

Following fire, an outpouring of Old St. George memories

Rosalie Feldman grew up near Old St. George Church, went to grade school next door and got married there May 3, 1958.

As she watched the church's twin spires burn on television, then collapse Friday night, Feldman was devastated.

"We were able to go to daily Mass there," Feldman, who now lives in Forest Park, said Saturday. "One of the most beautiful things to me was the canopy above the altar and the life-sized crucifix."
