I live in Boston and just want to tell you how beautiful of an experience it was to see so many Patriot fans unhappy after the Super Bowl, sweet justice my friend. That being said, I believe we've made three great moves since this time last year: Drafting Carriker, drafting Ryan, and hiring Saunders. To me, the obvious is that we have to have an A+ draft and shore up the OLine in free agency. My biggest concern is: What happens to Leonard Little's situation? It seems like he is on the wrong side of 30 and with his off the field issues combined with a huge cap number, maybe cutting LL is our best option. What's the buzz around Rams park about this and the Ike situation? Best, S. Monkey. .

Local contractors tapped for FUSD projects

Flagstaff Unified School District construction contracts from the bond sale to total nearly $53 million will go to Flagstaff-based contractors Straightline Builders, Inc. and Goodman Contracting, as well as H.A.C.I. Mechanical Contractors, Inc. and Centennial Contractors Enterprises, Inc. which have local presences.Bond funds will also be used to improve the FUSD bus fleet with an approximate total of 37 buses. Both FUSD superintendent Kevin Brown and assistant superintendent of operations Bob Kuhn expressed enthusiasm in the board-approved contractors."The tax money comes from local businesses and families and it should be spent and used with local subcontractors and contractors," Kuhn said.He said the selection criteria were based upon the contractor's proposal, knowledge of the district, knowledge of job contracting and availability to the district. The Bond Oversight Committee and FUSD governing board approved the contracts Tuesday during the FUSD board meeting.

Councilman MikeK Recalls Knievel Action Figure

Top: Young MikeK playing with Evel Knievel action figure; bottom: MikeK receives inspiration from his childhood friends before leaving for a Coeur d'Alene City Council meeting.

I had a classic Evel Knievel motorcycle riding action figure when I was a kid. The stunts my brothers and I would stage for that motorcycle toy were legendary (riding out a second story window, chasing the dog around the house without getting chewed to ribbons, you name it). RIP Evel. I wonder what happened to Steve Austin, the Six Million Dollar Man who played the role of Evel's arch-nemesis in the boyhood action figure wars?/Councilman MikeK.

Question: What was your favorite action figure/doll when you were little?

State launches homeowner assistance programs with local help

Housing and Urban Development-certified foreclosure assistance agency. The Rockford housing coalition helped the Browns work with her lender to modify their loan. Her story is a rare one; the vast majority of people who lose their house to foreclosure have not sought help. "You do have rights. You do have power," said Brown, a featured speaker Thursday at a news conference at the headquarters of the Neighborhood Housing Service of Chicago Inc., where Gov. Rod Blagojevich announced two programs he hopes will stem the tide. The first is that 15 Illinois housing assistance organizations, including the Rockford coalition, have joined a Statewide Foreclosure Prevention Network. The network will provide free counseling to families struggling with mortgage payments. If the telephone assistance isn't enough, the caller will be referred to the closest housing assistance agency.
